Secrets to Stop Self-Shaming and Find More Joy

Another solo episode sharing what's alive on my heart šŸ’ƒ
This week I continue to talk nerdy to you about the nervous system!
I get into my own self shaming tendencies and share my personal experience currently thawing from a freeze response.Ā  I explain why we need to stop looking at our nervous system with a binary lens and also discuss:Ā

  • the importance of finding space for rest
  • integrating slowness in your life to create space for joy
  • understanding pleasure beyond sexualityĀ

The conversation highlights the importance of holding space for circumstances instead of trying to control, fix or micromanage.Ā  This is an invitation to you to slow the f down and get curious about the symptoms in your body without judgment.
Ā
Questions to ponder:Ā

  • How have societal pressures to perform or achieve impacted your self worth?Ā
  • Have you ever found yourself believing that you have to work hard and endure suffering in order to experience pleasure and joy?
  • How do you practice slowing down and creating space for rest in your own life? Are there any specific activities or rituals that you find helpful? Do you wait till it's too lateĀ
  • How do you personally experience the concept of intensity in your own life? Do you see it as a positive or negative?Ā  Ā

Ā
Books mentioned in this episode that I HIGHLY RECOMMENDĀ

  1. The Healing Power of Pleasure: Seven Medicines for Rediscovering the Innate Joy of Being by Julia Paulette HollenberyĀ
  2. Call of the Wild by Kimberly Ann JohnsonĀ

About the Podcast

REWILD + FREE
Stirring good kinda trouble. This is a podcast where conscious entrepreneurship and personal exploration meets decolonization, nervous system healing, and cyclical living
What happens when you stop trying to fit neatly into this world?
When you unbecome everything you were told to be?
When you breathe nuance into a world obsessed with the binary?
When you stop chasing linear success and remember the power of the cyclical, the seasonal—the way we were always meant to be?

This is REWILD + FREE.

Not a blueprint. But an invitation.

To unmask. To unravel. To break free—not just from survival, but from the deep conditioning that keeps us disconnected. From each other. From our bodies. From the earth.

In all facets of life—motherhood, womanhood, conscious business, spirituality.

These are the conversations social media can’t hold space for. The ones that don’t fit into bite-sized posts or neat little soundbites. The messy, layered, deeply human ones. A mix of raw personal musings and soul-stirring interviews with those willing to go beyond the surface.

I’m Nicole Pasveer—mother, truth-seeker, activator. Someone who spent years untangling herself from stories that were never hers to hold. I’ve done the people-pleasing, the perfectionism, the fitting into boxes too small for me. I know what it feels like to wake up and realize—this isn’t who I am.

So here we are.

Stirring good kinda trouble.

Having the conversations that matter—healing, liberation, decolonization, reimagining how we live, work, and lead. Not with easy answers, but with big, bold, sometimes impossible-to-answer questions.

Where nuance, reclamation, and reimagination collide

Let’s rewild and remember. Together.
